Adenan’s solid cabinet team able to attend issues more effectively, says Dayak NGO
MIRI: A Dayak-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) is confident that under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, the state government would be able to earnestly pursue talks with the federal government on matters involving Sarawak autonomy as per Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA1963), oil royalty, English language, Pan Borneo Highway and Christian issues.
Aum Besai Dayak Selangor (ABDS) also believes that to achieve this, Adenan would need a solid team in his cabinet.
“It helps that the chief minister is giving Dayak assemblymen portfolios in his cabinet that have the capacity to speed up the development of the community.
“Such strategic portfolios can also provide greater input into specific vision, mission and tactics, as well as an overall new approach on taking rural development to the next step,” he told The Borneo Post on Friday.
Yesterday, Adenan announced the appointment of Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Masing as respective deputy chief minister I and II. Moreover, Uggah is also Modernisation of Agriculture and Rural Economy Minister; while Masing is Infrastructure Development and Transportation Minister.
Dato Sri Michael Manyin holds the Youth and Sports and Solidarity Minister portfolio, and Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi is now Public Utilities Minister.
