See Liam Hemsworth battle the aliens in ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES, June 12 — Check out more footage from Independence Day: Resurgence courtesy of these new clips from 20th Century Fox.

In the first clip titled “Dog Fight”, we see Earth Space Defence pilots Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher engaging in an intense aerial battle with the invading aliens.

In the second clip titled “Fast Approach”, watch what happens when an enormous alien spaceship wreaks havoc on Earth’s surface.

Here’s the official synopsis for the film: “Independence Day was just the beginning. We always knew they were coming back. After that film redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter in the Independence Day universe delivers a global spectacle on an unimaginable scale.

“Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defence program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.”

The blockbuster also stars Jeff Goldblum, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Maika Monroe and Sela Ward.

Independence Day: Resurgence is set for release on June 24.
