Why Russia Is The Enemy : Russian Aerospace Engineering's New MC 21 Jet Liner

My comments :   Russia has a long history of producing world class jet liners for a very long time. Among Russian classics are the Ilyushin 62 and Ilyushin 86.

The graceful IL62

The jumbo IL86

They also produced the supersonic Tupolev 144 (Tu 144) passenger liner.

That was in the Soviet era.

21st century New Russia has now produced the MC21 - a game changing jet airplane. This 150-200 seater rivals the Boeings and Airbuses in this class.

The Russians have developed a new engine for this plane (PD 14), new avionics including a heads up display in the cockpit (the information is projected on the windscreen of the plane in front of the pilot).

Most interestingly the single aisle is wide enough to allow passengers and the food cart to pass each other comfortably.

The MC 21 is said to be 20% more fuel efficient than the Boeings and Airbuses.

Russia and China are challenging US and European supremacy on many fronts.  Hence Russia and China are enemies.
