SAN DIEGO — The award-winning 2003-2009 reboot of Battlestar Galactica was the show that defined post-9/11 America. A true science-fiction mirror of our times, it reflected paranoia, terrorist attacks, torture, coups, controversial wars, stolen elections and a president whose descent into extra-legal means was explicitly modeled on that of George W. Bush.

So how would a modern version of the show reflect the insanity of the Trump era? Showrunner David Eick didn't have any hesitation when asked that question at Comic-Con: The Battlestar would have to be helmed by a "crazy unqualified captain," he said. Read more...
