'Doctor Who' companion Deborah Watling dies
British actress Deborah Watling has died, the BBC reports. Watling played Victoria Waterfield, companion to Patrick Troughton as the second doctor, on Doctor Who. She was 69 and suffered briefly from brain cancer.
Watling was born in 1948 and first appeared on screen in 1959 on William Tell. She was on Doctor Who from 1967 to 1968, even appearing alongside father Jack Watling twice during her tenure as companion, per the BBC. She was also part of Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time (1993), Downtime (1995), and played herself in The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot (2013). Read more...
