Wan Azizah, Nurul Izzah will not vacate seats for Anwar
Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar today insisted that she will not be abdicating her seat for her father Anwar Ibrahim.
“Permatang Pauh is my cinta abadi (eternal love).
“…I think I’m going to be committed to my eternal love until my term ends,” she told reporters at the Parliament lobby.
Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail also said she would not be vacating her Pandan seat for her husband.
“Memang tak (definitely not),” Wan Azizah said when asked by members of the media in the Parliament lobby.
When stumping for Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni in the Sungai Kandis by-election last week, Anwar had hinted at his return to Parliament.
"There is a vacant seat in Sungai Kandis, there is a vacant seat in Balakong, and there's a vacancy in Parliament because I want to contest," said Anwar, who is now PKR president.
