Najib: Our transformation plan is working

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Najib Razak said the National Transformation Programme (NTP), which is in its fifth year of implementation, demonstrated the country’s achievements in the face of global economic volatility.

He said the Government Transformation Programme (GTP), from the aspect of the National Key Result Areas (NKRAs), had achieved 99% of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), while the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) under the National Key Economic Areas (NKEAs) attained 111% of the KPIs.

Speaking at the launch of the National Transformation Programme Report 2015 here tonight, he said through the Strategic Reform Initiative, 108% of the KPIs had been achieved.

The prime minister said since the outset of the NTP, Malaysia managed to break the walls of impossibility from the aspect of government delivery system to the people and attain figures and economic performance by making a big shift from “being” to “doing”.

“Thank God, I recently completed my seven-year tenure helming the government administration as prime minister, together with the deputy prime minister and Cabinet ministers, and members of the administration by the will of God.

“… through the National Transformation Policy (DTN), this government has been successful in crafting Malaysia’s economic strategy.

“As I said a few weeks ago, we can say with certainty that our transformation plan is working and we are delivering.”

Najib said the GTP had surpassed the horizon, or Phases 1 and 2, and is now heading towards the next phase through the 11th Malaysia Plan to lift Malaysia to a developed country status.

On the other hand, he said the ETP would continue to be driven to achieve the targets set.
