Fate of ex-UPP trio yet to be decided: Uggah
KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, also PBB senior vice president, said the party would have to convene a supreme council meeting to decide whether to accept the applications of former UPP leaders who won their seats as direct BN candidates in the 11th state election.
Met by reporters here today (May 26), he said the date of the meeting was yet to be decided.
“I want to put on record that they decide (to apply to join PBB themselves). There is no compulsion. As far as PBB is concerned, this will be left to the Supreme Council to decide,” said Uggah.
He also added that he had communicated with the party’s executive secretary who informed him of having received applications from the three former UPP leaders.
The three former UPP elected representatives who had submitted their applications were Datuk Dr Jerip Susil (Mambong), Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa (Engkilili) and Ranum Mina (Opar).
