Heli crash: Contact authorities upon discovery of clues or debris, locals told
KUCHING: DCA director general Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman urged locals around Lingga and Sebuyau to contact the authorities should they find any leads or debris leading to the discovery of the AS350 Eurocopter, which crashed on Thursday.
Azharuddin, in a statement issued to the press today (May 9), reminded the public not to speculate and spread news which might hurt the feelings of family members of the victims.
He revealed that the Search and Rescue Operation today saw two helicopters, 18 boats and vessels and eight vehicles joining the search party.
The SAR operation also saw the addition of new equipment from the Navy, which is the Side Scan Sonar, following the engagement of the Sonar Starfish Metal Detector by the Civil Defence Department (JPAM).
