Tee exits ‘enemy of Islam’ MCA in protest
PETALING JAYA: Controversial academician Ridhuan Tee Abdullah today announced his exit from MCA in protest of the party’s apparent challenging of Islam in its rejection of the recently tabled hudud bill.
According to a report by Ismaweb, Tee, who had joined the party in 2000 after four years of waiting, had called MCA an overly racial party.
“I do not want to carry the sin of being in a party that opposes Islam,” Tee said of his exit.
“I previously struggled to join the party, even though it took me four years to get in to evangelise the party.
“However, the party became very racial and made an enemy of Islam. Whoever makes an enemy of Islam makes an enemy of me,” Tee said in a statement to Ismaweb.
Tee said that MCA should have come to understand Islam and the Malay way of life after 60 years of national independence.
He urged MCA and Gerakan to leave the country and start their own parties in the communist countries.
“Not only do they pretend to not understand, they insult the indigenous people who only want their rights. If MCA and Gerakan want a better way of life, find your own place,” Tee said.
“Respect the indigenous people here. This is their land, they have every right to get what is theirs, whereas MCA, Gerakan, DAP and the others have no business meddling,” Tee said.
Commenting on the recent threats of resignation from politicians from MCA, Gerakan, SUPP and MIC, Tee urged them to just leave.
“I ask the ministers from MCA, Gerakan and MIC to resign immediately. No need to wait. How shameful. You won the elections on the goodwill of Malay voters and got seats in the Cabinet. Ungrateful,” he said.
Tee urged the government to reject MCA’s Kojadi cooperative’s requests to become a cooperative bank.
“To accept it is treachery to Malays and Islam, especially when Sarawak has more right than they do. I hope that the Umno-led government will be firm in this matter. Have some testicles,” Tee said.
“The scenario in MIC is even worse. They don’t even have one majority seat. All of them were voted in on the goodwill of Malay Muslims. Unfortunately, they haven’t learned to understand Malays and Islam.”
Tee also questioned what MCA, Gerakan and MIC had contributed to Islam after the Malay community had voted for them.
“Malays continue to be lied to. It’s strange that the Malays and their political parties are still blind. Wake up, Malay Muslims.
“This is the time for us to unite against the real enemy. They used to congregate in secret, but they have done so openly today,” he said.
