Amanah fires return salvo at PAS Youth Chief
SHAH ALAM, June 2 — Parti Amanah Negara’s (Amanah) Khalid Samad today said PAS Youth chief Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz was acting drunk, after the latter claimed the PAS splinter group was intoxicated by support from DAP.
The Shah Alam MP told Nik Abduh that drunks would not have the resolve to stand up to their own party, alluding to the formation of Amanah by former PAS members who quit the Islamist party over disagreements on policy.
He also mocked the attire worn during the ongoing PAS annual assembly.
“We are now in the 21st century but they attended the opening ceremony in warrior outfits from the 14th century. They are the drunk people!” he added.
“They insult DAP, make fun of PKR by praising MCA and Gerakan. This is the act of an intoxicated person. Friends, they attack, but enemies, they praise,” Khalid said during a press conference.
Nik Abduh yesterday claimed that Amanah members left PAS because they had become intoxicated by support from DAP, but did not elaborate.
Amanah and PAS will contest against each other in Sungai Besar and is expected to also do so in Kuala Kangsar.
