An auto-loving alien will take you on a ride in ‘Monster Trucks’ (VIDEO)
LOS ANGELES, June 2 — Here’s the first trailer for long-delayed Monster Trucks, which as the title literally points out is a film about aliens taking over our automobiles.
The movie centres on Lucas Till (X-Men: Apocalypse), a high school senior who's into building monster trucks. He discovers a strange yet friendly alien while working on his truck in a junkyard.
Tripp later finds out that the alien not only loves to attach itself to his truck, but can also serve as a super-powered engine for his old car.
The synopsis for the film reads: “Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend.
“Melding cutting edge visual effects and state-of-the-art CGI, Monster Trucks is an action filled adventure for the whole family that will keep you on the edge of your seat and ultimately touch your heart.”
The film also stars Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Danny Glover, Barry Pepper and Holt McCallany. Monster Trucks is set for release on January 13, 2017.
