Liverpool could pounce as £40m Man City deal stalls (Rumour)

Leroy Sane has been lighting up the Bundesliga recently, and we’re apparently among the clubs looking at the possibility of signing him this summer. He looked certain to make a move to Manchester City at one point, but new boss Pep Guardiola is apparently stalling on the deal, as reported by the Mirror.

The 20-year-old has been in phenomenal form for Schalke, consequently earning himself a call up to the Germany squad. A decision therefore won’t be made until after the Euro 2016 Championships, when Sane can focus on his future rather than international duty.

While we’re obviously always in with a chance of signing the talented star until a deal is done elsewhere, it’s pretty ridiculous to suggest that the decision to wait until after the Euros gives us any more hope of landing the £40m rated man (via the Mirror).

Deals for players involved in major tournaments rarely go through during the events, so it’s only natural that Sane and Manchester City are stalling until the Euros end. A deal may well be all but done, but the two parties are merely waiting until after the competition to sign on the dotted line.

If we could get Sane it would be a phenomenal bit of business, although with a £40m price-tag and competition from some real big spenders it seems highly unlikely. The report suggests that Bayern Munich are also keen on the youngster, so if Manchester City do cool their interest then we’d still have the German giants to contend with.
