Vell Paari: Stop being a sore loser, Rafizi

Vell Paari accused Rafizi and his DAP ally Tony Pua of using 'hate politics' to woo voters and lying by slandering Najib. — Picture by Choo Choy MayKUALA LUMPUR, June 23 ― PKR’s Rafizi Ramli should not blame voters for Pakatan Harapan’s defeat in Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar, and accept that Barisan Nasional (BN) won both polls because Malaysians support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s leadership, MIC’s Datuk Seri S. Vell Paari said.

The MIC treasurer-general also accused Rafizi and his DAP ally Tony Pua of using “hate politics” to woo voters and lying by slandering Najib, attacking state-owned firms like 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and Lembaga Tabung Haji.

But according to Vell Paari, Malaysians could no longer be swayed by the opposition’s brand of politics.

“Basically the rakyat do not trust the opposition anymore. So Rafizi Ramli must stop blaming the rakyat for his party's poor showing.

“Rafizi Ramli must stop being a sore loser. If he can't stand politics or losing, he should take a sabbatical,” he said in a statement.

The landslide victory BN achieved in the recent by election demonstrates clearly the Rakyat have made up their mind that Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Haji Tun Abdul Razak is the right man to continue developing the country and its people,” he added.

Last Saturday, BN retained both the federal parliamentary seats with increased majorities ― 9,191 votes in Sungai Besar and 6,969 votes in Kuala Kangsar ― aided by a multi-corner fights involving Pakatan Harapan’s Amanah and Islamist opposition party PAS.

Rafizi had said that the results showed that voters were still influenced by race, religion and materialism, while Pua had questioned voters’ rationale for backing BN.

Earlier today, BN’s Kuala Selangor MP Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim told Rafizi and Pua to stop blaming voters for Pakatan Harapan’s losses, saying it was immature for them to do so.

Opposition parties together with former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had sought to use both June 18 by-elections as an informal referendum on Najib’s leadership.
