Lawyer: Nhaveen's murder case up for mention tomorrow
The case of the brutal assault and murder of Penang teenager T Nhaveen has been fixed for mention tomorrow at the Georgetown Magistrate's Court.
Baljit Singh, the lawyer who is on a watching brief for Nhaveen's family, said the post-mortem results are yet to be released.
"This case has got the attention of the entire nation. Each and every detail is important," Baljit told Malaysiakini.
He said justice needs to be served and all related reports have to be prepared thoroughly.
"We urge that the post-mortem results be released as soon as possible so that the trial can go on," he added.
Nhaveen died on June 15 after succumbing to injuries sustained in an assault by a group of youths, believed to be his schoolmates, in Gelugor.
It is learnt that Nhaveen, who is from Taman Tun Sardon in Seri Delima, which is part of Bukit Gelugor, was abducted by the group when he went to a burger stall in the area after work with his friend, T Previin.
Previin managed to escape after being assaulted, but Nhaveen was found a few hours later, unconscious and seriously injured, in a nearby field.
He was reportedly brain dead when he was rushed to the Penang General Hospital on June 10.
Nhaveen's death shook the nation. Malaysians from all works of life condemned the scourge of teenage bullying and violence.
Four teenagers, of which two are minors, have since been charged with his murder and grievous assault on his friend Previin. - Mkini
