SINGAPORE (Oct 25): Asian petrochemical producers will face higher competition in the next few years from the US, says M Yusri M Yusof, vice president of refining and trading at Petronas, during conference in Singapore.

* Cheap natural gas liquids (NGL) supply from shale production in North America is driving investment in crackers there

** “We expect to see higher competition in Asia” as new North American and Middle East capacities start and bring surplus volumes of polymers to the region
