SEX VOLCANO BUBBLES ON AT UMNO AGM: ‘LUSTY’ DELEGATES LODGE POLICE REPORTS AGAINST EX-PUTERI LEADER OVER ‘KHALWAT’ CLAIMS

KUALA LUMPUR – Puteri Umno members today lodged police reports against one of their former committee members, who had claimed that ‘khalwat’ (close proximity) was a rampant occurrence during the annual Umno General Assembly.

Puteri Umno information chief Haryaty Hamzah said the accusations by a former Klang Umno Puteri committee member were serious and she urged the police to take action to investigate the truth behind the claims.

“From what we know, such incidents do not happen. I am are not sure if it (the remarks were made) from her personal experience but to my knowledge, they do not take place.

“She went overboard with her statement. It has tarnished the party’s image and gave the perception that Puteri Umno members come to the assembly to do immoral activities,” she told a press conference after lodging a police report at the Dang Wangi police station here.

Haryaty said if it was true that the former Puteri committee member knew that immoral activities had taken place since she joined 17 years ago, she should have highlighted the issue then.

Asked if they would consider legal action against the former committee member, Haryaty said the next course of action would be based on the findings of police investigations.

“We will see what is the outcome of the investigation, then we will assess if legal action can be taken,” she said.

Haryaty said the remarks could be a publicity stunt as the former member has since joined Pas.

Another police report was also lodged by Klang Puteri Umno chief Norhaslindawati Bujang.

The former Puteri member had, in an interview with a tabloid, allegedly challenged the authorities to carry out raids to arrest those engaging in khalwat during the assembly, alleging that many non-Muslims committed khalwat with Muslims, married men and married women staying in one room.
