Putrajaya expected to announce Cabinet reshuffle next week
The reshuffle is not expected to make major changes, sources told the news portal.
Kapit MP Alexander Nanta Linggi may replace Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas as the Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, after Uggah resigned to contest in the Sarawak elections and was appointed one of three deputy Sarawak chief ministers.
Following the departure of Ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Idris Jala and Tan Sri Wahid Omar, two ministerial positions are expected to be filled, along with two deputy ministerial posts.
A deputy minister post was left vacant after the death of the late Tan Sri Noriah Kasnon, who was the Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister.
The other deputy ministerial post — for the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry — was vacated when Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah stepped down to become the Kedah Mentri Besar.
