Two iconic projects in Kedah to start next year
KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 — Infrastructure development works on two Kedah iconic projects, Kedah Science Tecnhology Park (KSTP) in Bukit Kayu Hitam and Rubber City in Padang Terap, are expected to start next year.
Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) chief executive Datuk Redza Rafiq said the appointment of consultants had been made to draft the planning work, including through the setting up of an infrastructure laboratory.
“By 2030 the KSTP project is able to provide 23,444 job opportunities while for the Rubber City, 14,471.
“We work closely with the state government, we have discussions with the State Economic Planning Unit to look for new initiatives,” he said at the breaking of fast and contribution presentation to the elderly, single mothers, disabled persons and orphans at Masjid Bukit Tinggi here today.
Also present was Kubang Pasu Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Baharum.
Redza said NCIA, jointly with the state government, had generated RM15,288 million worth of investment and 19,399 job opportunities for the locals from 2011-2015. — Bernama
