Ratu Naga called in for questioning at midnight
PETALING JAYA: Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, better known as “Ratu Naga”, has decried being called in for questioning by the police at midnight on Tuesday, despite still being in confinement.
Speaking to FMT, Ema said about 12.30am on Tuesday, five plainclothes policemen came to her home, knocked on her door repeatedly and identified themselves as policemen.
She said they told her to follow them to the Klang Selatan police station, but did not state the reason why she had to do so.
“I asked them how could I go to the police station when I was still under confinement and was still nursing my child,” she said, adding that at the time only her two elder brothers were at home as her husband worked in another state.
“The policeman said if I did not want the matter to drag on, I could bring my baby to the police station. I said I couldn’t bring my baby out in the middle of the night.”
She said she reluctantly agreed to cooperate and went to the police station with one of her brothers, while the other brother stayed home to look after her baby.
Ema said she was questioned about posting photographs of the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah and the prime minister’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, at a Hari Raya function.
She said she had never mocked the Sultan or Rosmah.
“But there were other Facebook pages which mocked the Sultan. One police report lodged on the photographs had equated my posting to that of another person’s who had mocked the Sultan.”
Ema said because police reports on the matter were made en masse, some Facebook pages, including hers, were dragged in.
“How can they do this, surely before they carry out their investigations they have to look at the evidence. It is clear that I never mocked the Sultan.”
She also claimed that the police told her she was supposed to be arrested, and when she asked why, she was told it was procedure, because I was the only one that could be arrested as they could not trace the others.
Ema claimed that the police told her their hands were tied as Bukit Aman had called them everyday and questioned why no arrests had been made.
She said she left the police station at 3am.
Last month, officers from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) raided Ema’s house over the same postings and questioned her for three hours.
