Giant Billboard Crushes Parked Cars in Downtown Dongguan, China

A new viral video is making the rounds in Chinese social media showing how a massive billboard completely destroyed a parking lot full of cars in downtown Dongguan, Guangdong. Rusty screws holding the massive billboard, as well as intense, heavy wind due to the typhoon, are said to be responsible for the accident.

The video clip was posted in China’s video sharing platform Miaopai. The incident, according to Shanghaiist, happened on a heavy windy afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 31, at around 3 p.m.

People can be heard screaming as the billboard slowly falls into the group of cars parked in front of a local bank.

Luckily, no one was in the area at the time of the billboard’s sudden fall. Reports believe that there are zero casualties in the event but at least eight cars are said to be heavily damaged – some completely crushed by the massive pole holding the billboard and debris.
