Mahathir Says Malaysians Must Go To China To Learn From Jack Ma
When Malays are taught that success is measured in terms of money, people like P. Ramli, Saloma, R. Azmi, and many more, are forgotten and no one wants to emulate them (I bet many of you have never even heard of R. Azmi). Instead, we are told to rush to China and emulate Jack Ma. And that is why the Malays are so corrupt. That is because since 1969 Mahathir has been telling the Malays they are failures unless they have as much money as the Chinese. And that is Mahathir’s message in his book The Malay Dilemma.

“During my visit to China, I found that we can learn much from them. They were once upon a time more backward than us, but now they are leading. Some, like Jack Ma, can make billions in a day,” said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Jack Ma is one man in a country of 1.4 billion Chinese. Just because one man out of 1.4 billion Chinese “can make billions in a day” that does not mean Malaysians need to rush to China to find out how to do the same.
In fact, the top ten places where billionaires live are Tokyo, Moscow, New York, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Beijing, Osaka, Hong Kong and Shanghai. If you want to learn how to be a billionaire, then Malaysians should rush to Tokyo, Moscow, New York, London, Paris or Frankfurt because Beijing is number seven on the list.
Become successful like Jack Ma, Mahathir tells Malaysians
But what is more alarming here is Mahathir’s attitude towards what he considers success. To Mahathir, success is measured by the size of your wealth. The richer you are, the more successful you are — and if you are the richest man in China then Malaysians should rush to meet you to study how to be rich, meaning also how to be successful.
Mahathir’s love for money is astounding. And this appears to be what motivates him, money. Every statement Mahathir makes is about money. And every action he takes is also about money.
‘Success’ is not measured in just how much money you have in the bank. P. Ramli and Saloma both died broke. Does that mean they should be despised and considered failures? R. Azmi not only died broke but was homeless and living in a friend’s garage. Would you despise him and consider him a failure?
