High expectations despite limited intensive training
KUCHING: The Kuching Division Basketball Association (KDBA) are expecting the best from their players at the 4th Sarawak U17 Boys/Girls Basketball Championship which started at the Catholic High School indoor stadium in Sibu yesterday.
KDBA chairman Voon Soon Liong said this although the players had only gathered for six days of intensive training.
He also thanked the Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) for continuing to be the team sponsor.
SEB is the jersey sponsor for the U15, U17, U20, non-Chinese and Open teams.
Meanwhile, six boy’s and four girl’s teams are vying for honours at the state-level tournament.
The boy’s competition shall see Miri, Samarahan and Bintulu in Group A while Group B consists of Kuching, Sibu and Sri Aman.
In the girls competition based on league format, the teams are Kuching, Miri, Bintulu and Sibu.
