KUCHING: The environment is everyone’s concern and bringing together people of all faiths to explore the beauty of nature enhances mutual understanding and appreciation.

Around 30 participants joined the programme under ‘IIC Cares @Environment’ organised by the Islamic Information Centre (IIC).

The photography session was held at Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) Thursday.

Its CEO Zabariah Matali said they made it a photography visit to get participants to look at nature in new and unexpected ways with the best images to be immortalised on postcards by IIC.

They were shown by SCB staff the production of homemade soap and taken on a tour of the gardens by CEO Dr Yeo Tiong Chia and Information Officer Asha Devi Kaushal.

Budding photographers listened to briefings on the origins and uses of certain plants through the various cultures of Sarawak, taking photos of those eye-catching or interesting.

IIC Cares is a series of events to strengthen the spirit of unity and harmonious co-existence among the people of Sarawak in line with the centre’s second principle of inclusiveness or universality.
