Rayani Air owner accepts suspension with heavy heart
PETALING JAYA: Rayani Air owner Ravi Alagendrran said his company accepted the three months suspension by the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), albeit with a heavy heart.
However, Ravi, who is also Rayani Air’s chief executive officer, said this was simply a spurt for the airlines to ‘fly higher’ in the future.
“In this period (suspension), we will strive to improve and resolve all problems with regards to our operations,” Mstar Online quoted him as saying.
Yesterday, the DCA issued a three months suspension order on Rayani Air’s Air Operator’s Certificate, effective immediately.
Ravi admitted the airline faced financial difficulties which then affected operations.
He said they would work on a plan to restructure Rayani Air, including looking for funds, resolving unpaid staff salaries, employing more pilots and adding more aircraft to their fleet.
“It is all related to funding and operations, we will work towards overcoming this the best way we can,” he was quoted as saying.
