Panama Papers: ‘The most important’ is yet to come, say journalists

HAVANA: After a week of intrigue and accusations, the deputy director of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), Marina Walkerm, announced today that the Panama Papers scandal keeps more secrets.

The ICIJ published 11.5 million documents of the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, which unleashed an international scandal over offshore accounts and which still keeps many secrets.

According to statements by Walkerm the ICIJ will continue to publish the documents, because not everything is uncovered yet and ‘perhaps the most important thing has not yet been revealed”.

Such revelations involving world leaders, businessmen and celebrities, and their impact surprised the investigative journalists, who agree that they knew that this was valuable information, but never imagined it would cause so much public interest.

To date Panama Papers scandal has caused the resignation of the Prime Minister of Iceland, the resignation of an official of the Union of European Football Associations and has left on a delicate position British Prime Minister David Cameron, Argentine president Mauricio Macri and Jose Manuel Soria, Minister of Industry of Spain.
