Gimpy-legged Pug survives car crash
GEORGE TOWN: A pug dog was left unscathed after the car driven by its owner crashed head on with a motorcycle at Lebuhraya Thean Teik, Air Itam, at 11.40pm last night.
A white Suzuki Swift carrying the canine and three occupants collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at the junction of Melody Homes apartments.
A woman in the car, in her 20s, sustained injuries to her head and legs. Two other passengers from the Suzuki escaped unhurt while the lone motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, broke his right arm.
Paramedics arrived at the scene 10 minutes later and the injured were rushed to the Penang Hospital for treatment.
Appearing agitated, “Tom” the pug appeared uneasy after a large crowd gathered at the accident site. He was later transported off on bike by the victim’s friend.
Tom appeared to have sustained a light injury to its hind leg, as it limped as a friend walked him to the curb with a leash.
An eyewitness in her 50s said the Suzuki collided with the motorcylist while making a right turn. She said the motorcyclist was sent “flying”.
Police are investigating.
