Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today complained that many were praying that he be “extinguished”.
He noted that there were many rumours recently about the state of his health.
Having arrived late at the Subang Umno delegates’ meeting in Sungai Buloh today, Ahmad Zahid said he had to see his doctor, but that it had nothing to do with all the rumours about his health.
“I’m sorry for arriving late but I had to see my doctor just now, but it is not that I had a heart attack or a stroke as being circulated (on social media).
“Many appear to be praying for me to be extinguished,” he said.
However, Ahmad Zahid did not disclose the nature of his medical meeting that caused him to be late.
Addressing the delegates, Ahmad Zahid urged forgiveness for those spreading false information about him.
“Forgive anyone who is praying that I fall sick. Perhaps my sickness would go to them,” he said laughingly, then adding “don’t do that”.
Ahmad Zahid who was supposed to officiate the division meeting at 9.15am arrived two hours late.
His voice was also hoarse when he presented his speech and he only spoke for 15 minutes.
Kedah MB Ahmad Bashah being rushed to hospital. He has since recovered and is back at work.
Negri Sembilah MB Mohammad Hassan was hospitalized at IJN last week, according to news reports.
