Driver Blocked By SUV in Parking Lot Takes Sweet, Illegal Revenge in China

A video of a truck driver ramming his truck into a car that blocked his way out of a parking lot in southern China has gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region around noon on July 30.

In the video, the driver can be seen banging his green pick-up truck 11 times into a white SUV that was parked behind him.

It turns out that the driver, identified as Li, was rushing to hand out 210,000 yuan (around $30,690) to his workers.

“Today is the 30th and I must pay them,” Li told local media, adding that he had been trying to reach the SUV’s owner for 30 minutes through the number posted on its window.

Li went on to defend his actions saying that he cannot just walk the streets with that much cash, according to Sina News.

He also informed the SUV’s owner, identified as Zhang, of what he did through text.

In response, Zhang explained that he had an emergency at work and could not find a parking space.

“I couldn’t find a parking spot even next to the highway. Everywhere else was occupied,” he said.

Zhang then found the spot behind Li’s truck and assumed it would be fine since people were having lunch and he didn’t plan to be away for long.

The video eventually reached the local traffic police department, which summoned both parties for mediation.

It is unclear if a decision on a settlement has been reached or whether both drivers will be charged for their own alleged errors — those of destroying private property and parking illegally, as pointed out by netizens.
