Police hunt for driver, passengers who abandoned car after crash
KLANG: Police are on hunt for the driver and passengers of a cloned Toyota Wish, who abandoned their vehicle following a crash that left two people dead.
The individuals are believed to have fled the scene after the accident, which occurred along Jalan Klang Banting at about 4.10pm on Friday.
The car, which was headed towards Banting, is believed to have hit a three-tonne lorry in front of it, causing the vehicle to deviate into the opposite lane and crash head-on with a trailer.
The driver and his colleague in the lorry died on the spot from the impact, while the driver of the trailer escaped with light injuries.
A police spokesperson said that police are gathering fingerprints from the cloned car and a report has been lodged to enable further investigations.
“We are hunting down the driver and passengers in the car to assist in the investigation.
“We urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information about the crash to contact the police,” he said on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Sani Harul said that the victims were pinned to their seats and suffered serious head and body injuries from the crash.
He said that a team of seven firemen from the Andalas fire station were rushed to the scene after a distress call came in at 4.29pm Friday.
The victims have been identified as Mohd Anuar Hussin, 41, from Kuala Krai in Kelantan and Hoe Koon Long, 57, from Seri Kembangan in Selangor.via The Star Online Nation Highlights http://ift.tt/1TZpM4O
