Rafizi guns for Jho Low and Najib allies
PETALING JAYA: Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli is starting a new public pressure campaign against 1Malaysia Development Bhd today and has set his sights on controversial Penang-born businessman Jho Low, who has been linked to the family of Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Rafizi said that only pressure from the rakyat would “shake those involved” into giving statements about Najib’s involvement.
Calling the campaign #1MDBWanted, Rafizi said he would begin by lodging a police report tomorrow against Low Taek Jho (“Jho Low”).
He said the focus would be on a different individual every week, based on the findings of parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, which has conducted hearings and tabled a report on 1MDB.
Rafizi, who is PKR secretary-general, urged other politicians of Pakatan Harapan, activists and members of the public to make similar police reports, and to send him the details, such as the report number.
He had previously said that he would publish a “citizens’ wanted list” of those that he accused of wrongdoing in 1MDB’s affairs.
Rafizi said at a forum earlier this week that the list was directed at people seen to be protecting Najib. “If you can’t get the guy on top, you go after the guys protecting him. It’s our job to make sure they run until they have no more ground to run on,” he said.
