DAP gives PKR time to mull backing proposed Penang snap polls

GEORGE TOWN: DAP is to give time to its coalition partner PKR to have consultations before making a decision on backing a proposed snap election in Penang, DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng said today.

He said Penang was administered by a Pakatan Harapan government which was made up of not DAP alone but also PKR and Parti Amanah Negara.

Lim, who is the Penang Chief Minister, said any decision on a state election should be made jointly in the spirit of Pakatan Harapan cooperation by taking into account the views of every partner.

“We will give adequate time for them to consider but, of course, not forever,” he told a press conference here.

The press conference was held after Lim held a meeting with PKR Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, PKR Vice President Nurul Izzah Anuar and PKR Election Strategy Director Saifuddin Nasution.-Bernama
