Getting FMT on your Facebook newsfeed

FMT

PETALING JAYA: Active Facebook users may have noticed some changes in their News Feed since the beginning of this month.

Basically, Facebook say they want to let its users get the latest updates from family and friends as a priority on the social media site.

The move has affected publishers like Free Malaysia Today.

Even Facebook vice-president Adam Mosseri, who manages the News Feed product teams, confirmed in a statement on the site that “publishers will see a small but noticeable” decrease in organic reach.

“It will vary a lot by publisher, mostly based on how much of their referral traffic or their reach is based on people who actually share their content directly,” Mosseri said.

However, we at Free Malaysia Today are pleased to show you THREE EASY STEPS, so that you need not wait for family or friends to post our stories on their Facebook page first.

Instead, you can stay up to date with the latest news from Free Malaysia Today by carrying out the THREE EASY STEPS as follows (refer to the screenshot):

Step 1. On your Facebook page, type “Free Malaysia Today” in the search bar. (see first screenshot)

Step 2. When the Free Malaysia Today page is displayed, make sure the page is “Liked” with the “thumbs-up symbol” highlighted in blue. If it is not, just click on “Like” (for Laptop/PC) or, tap on “Like” (for mobile devices).

Step 3. On your Laptop/PC, select “All on” for Notifications and “See first” for In Your News Feed, as shown in the second screenshot below.

For mobile devices, if you have previously “Liked” the page, then just tap the “Following” button and select “See first” or “Default”. If you have just “Liked” the page and do not see the “Following” button at first, then leave the page and re-enter.

That’s all. Now you are set to get Free Malaysia Today news alerts without any delay.
