MIDF advises investors to stay calm over foreign shareholding trend
KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 10): Investors should not fret over the foreign shareholding downtrend seen at the local market, said MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd.
The research house said according to Bursa Malaysia data, the percentage of foreign shareholdings based on market capitalisation in the local bourse had climbed 0.7% to 23% as of June 2017, compared with 22.3% as of December 2016.
“While this is arguably still far from the the post financial crisis high of 25.2% in May 2013, we would like to point out that this is not necessarily a reason to worry,” it said.
