Sarikei police seek witnesses’ assistance in hit-and-run accident
SARIKEI: The police are seeking witnesses or members of the public with information on the hit-and-run case involving a senior citizen yesterday, to assist in their investigation.
Acting district police chief Supt Mat Jusoh Muhammad said Leong Ah Yang, 68, a farmer, was heading home to KM1 Jalan Kim San from his orchard on a motorcycle when he was believed to have been hit by a lorry.
He said the victim was rushed to Sarikei Hospital and referred to Sibu Hospital for further treatment at 2.44 pm but succumbed to his injuries soon after.– BERNAMA
