Two men killed in driveby shooting

KUCHING: Shooting victim Ting Wen Hou was one of a pair of twins.

His brother, seated in the back was unharmed when the two suspects rode up to the vehicle and shot eight times through the driver’s window, killing Hii Lam King, 36, who was driving and Wen Hou, who was seated in the front.

It was learnt that the assailants had tailed the Toyota Land Cruiser that belongs to Hii, before one of the suspects fired through the driver’s side window.

The vehicle also rammed into the rear of a Perodua Myvi car driven by a woman. She was reported unharmed in the incident.

Sabah Crime Investigation Department (CID) chief SAC Salehhudin Abd Rahman said initial police investigation shows that Hii had just sent his child to school and was believed to be heading to the city centre with the twin-brothers from Lintas when the incident happened.

“Two men on a motorcycle approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and one of the assailants fired eight shots towards the window.

“Both the driver and the front passenger were killed instantly due to gunshot wounds,” he said when meet at the scene yesterday.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the penal code.

KUCHING: Two men in a 4WD were shot dead along Jalan Kolam, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu at around 8am this morning.

According to eyewitness accounts, they were at the Foh Sang traffic lights when two men on a motorcycle drove alongside the Toyota Land Cruiser and fired shots through the driver’s window, killing the driver and passenger.

It is believed that one of the victims was Sarawakian.
