Clerk charged with possession of books, documents on terrorism
LUMUT: A clerk was charged at the Seri Manjung Magistrate’s Court here today with possession of books and documents on terrorism.
However, no plea was recorded from Rafidah Juma’at, 26, after the charge was read out before Magistrate Nur Shaqira Ibrahim.
Rafidah was charged with committing the offence at a house in Taman Bistari, Ayer Tawar, Manjung, last March 24.
The charge, under Section 130JB(1)(a) of the Penal Code, provides for a sentence of not more than seven years’ jail or fine and forfeiture of the printed materials, if found guilty.
The court set July 28 for mention to transfer the case to the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Nur Farhana Hashim, while Rafidah was unrepresented.
