‘No permit applied for Selena Gomez concert’
PETALING JAYA: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) claims it has yet to receive a permit application for American singer Selena Gomez’s concert.
“Once it is received, MBSA will scrutinise the application.
“And if it fulfils the terms and conditions, then the state government has no problem issuing the permit,” said Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Star Online quoted Azmin as saying this when asked for comments on PAS Youth’s disapproval of Gomez’s “The Revival Tour” concert, scheduled to be held at Stadium Malawati here on July 25.
Azmin told the newspaper the focus should not be on the singer’s clothes.
“(A person’s) sexiness is God’s creation … some are sexy and pretty and some are not. It is normal. Do not get excited about it.”
PAS Youth’s Dakwah Committee Chairman Hafez Sabri had said the singer’s sexy image will tarnish the sanctity of the month of Syawal and wanted the concert banned.
His statement was criticised by Gomez’s fans who said those who did not want to watch the concert should stay away.
PAS is one of the parties that forms the Selangor state government.
