PUTRAJAYA: Residents in Putrajaya and its surrounding areas have been told not to be shocked with the sound of cannon firing today (July 19) and on Friday (July 22).

Putrajaya police chief ACP Rosly Hassan, in a statement yesterday, said the cannon firing was in conjunction with the full rehearsal of Trooping the Colour for the Yang diPertuan Agong tomorrow and the actual ceremony at Dataran Pahlawan Negara here, on Friday.

During the full rehearsal today , a two-gun salute would be carried out while on Friday, there would be a 21-gun salute during the ceremony, he said.

“As such residents around Putrajaya need not panic or be alarmed with the sound of cannon fire,” he said.

In this regard, Rosly said drone and hot balloon flying activities would not be allowed in the area without the approval of the Civil Aviation Department on July 22. — Bernama
