JOHOR BARU: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said he is prepared to contest any state and parliamentary seat in Johor for the next general election.

“I can do it at any place,” he said.

However, he said as of now, he did not know where he will be contesting.

Mohamed Khaled was speaking after a carnival at Dataran Permas.

Earlier, he reiterated that his month-long series of parliamentary visits was not part of campaigning for the coming general election.

“It is just part of my annual visits. I would like to go down to the field to make sure the state policies are being implemented effectively,” he said.

He said he has since visited 24 parliamentary constituencies so far, and he would visit the Kulai and Pasir Gudang parliamentary constituencies after the fasting month.

BN had won Johor by a simple majority in last GE, with BN taking 38 seats while the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat took 18, with DAP 13, PAS three, Amanah and PKR one respectively.

Meanwhile, the state government investment arm, JCorp will through its subsidiary, TPM Technopark Sdn Bhd build 30 units of factories for Bumiputra Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which is expected to be completed in 2018.

JCorp has also completed 13,930 unit of affordable houses in Pasir Gudang so far.
