IMMATURE & PRESUMPTUOUS, NURUL SAYS NO NEED FOR PM CANDIDATE AFTER DAD HIMSELF REALIZES HE’S NO LONGER THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE: SO DOES ANWAR’S KID WANT PAKATAN TO AGAIN WIN ONLY THE MAJORITY VOTE BUT NOT THE GOVT?

WHILE the country and the opposition grapple with Anwar Ibrahim’s decision last night, his daughter believes it’s not crucial for Pakatan Harapan (PH) to name a prime minister or supreme leader.

“What makes anyone think that it (PH) must officially name a PM designate or a supreme leader to lead the alliance as a pre-requisite to winning GE14?

“Didn’t Pakatan Rakyat win the majority vote in GE13 without officially naming a supreme leader or a PM designate?” said Nurul Izzah Anwar on her Facebook today.

PKR’s de-facto leader Anwar withdrew as the prime minister candidate for PH yesterday.
“Given the call to focus all over attention on the general election, I choose not to offer myself as the candidate for prime minister,” the jailed opposition leader said in a statement yesterday.

Nurul, who is Lembah Pantai MP and PKR vice-president, said PH must continue to work on the successful formula of the previous coalition, Pakatan Rakyat.

“Consensus and equality and mutual respect among the component parties. Stop talking about PM designate or supreme leader. Sweep aside selfish and parochial interests and focus only on winning GE14, and success will await us,” said the Lembah Pantai MP.

Nurul, who is also PKR’s vice president, said her father was instrumental to the opposition’s successes in GE12 despite not holding any official position in the party.

“Similarly, he was not officially named as the PM designate, and yet he was the single most powerful force that caused Pakatan Rakyat to bag the majority vote in GE13,” she added.
