The LG V30 will recognize your face even when its screen is off
After telling us all about the upcoming V30's dual camera and huge OLED screen, LG has now shared some details about the smartphone's new UI, which includes several visual and functional enhancements and an important security feature.
According to the company, users will be able to unlock the LG V30 "instantaneously" with the selfie cam's face recognition feature, which works even when the phone's screen is off, and doesn't require the user to press the phone's power button.
Even though we don't know all the details, the feature is notable as a slew of recent rumors say Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 will have a similar feature, perhaps even instead of a fingerprint scanner (according to the leaked images we've seen so far, the V30 will have a fingerprint scanner on the back).
