Three teens remanded over ruckus at Nothing to Hide

Three male teenagers who were detained for allegedly causing pandemonium at the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) 'Nothing to Hide 2.0' programme yesterday, have been remanded for four days to facilitate police investigation.

The remand orders on the three suspects – aged 17, 18 and 19 – were issued by Magistrate Raja Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin at the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court today.

The youths are being investigated under Section 15(2)(d) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012, Section 153 of the Penal Code and Section 8 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances Act 1957.

Earlier, they were taken to the court by police officers at about 10am.

In the 5.10pm incident at Dewan Raja Musa in Section 7 yesterday, the programme, organised by the party's youth wing dubbed Armada, turned into a ruckus with the throwing of flares, chairs, shoes and water bottles by several individuals in the audience.

The pandemonium broke out after a male audience asked the party's chairman, Dr Mahathir Mohamad about the Memali incident which occurred in Baling, Kedah, in September 1985.

However, as he was explaining, several individuals began throwing shoes, chairs and water bottles before the troublemakers ignited flares and threw at the former prime minister who was standing in the middle of the stage.
