MB: ‘Cah keting’ resolved, BN will retain Terengganu

UMNO AGM | Umno is confident of retaining Terengganu, Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman proclaimed today.
Ahmad Razif, who is also the state Umno liaison chief, was reported in the New Straits Times as saying that issues that could affect the party’s performance in the coming election have been “resolved.”
"We have resolved all issues including internal problems and this is why we managed to start our GE14 preparations earlier.
"Once the prime minister announces the GE14 date, we will go to the battleground and make sure we will once again win,” he said at the Umno general assembly in the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.
"We were defeated before, so we have the experience,” he added, referring to the state falling to PAS for one term in the 1999 General Election.
The MB also insisted that “cah keting” (sabotage) issues have been “identified and resolved.”
According to the report, one of the ways in which “cah keting” was being countered is through the creation of a “crisis room” – in addition to the campaign war room – to identify potential saboteurs within the party.

Last month, Universiti Utara Malaysia professor Mohd Azizuddin Mohd Sani (photo) had told Sinar Harian Online that Pakatan Harapan stood a good chance of dislodging BN from Terengganu.
Mohd Azizuddin had stressed that this was not due to the opposition’s strength, but rather to the weaknesses plaguing the state BN division.
“Terengganu is one of the examples of a state that can be seized by the opposition, as the infighting between the state's leaders has become public knowledge.
“With that kind of conflict, voters in the state see it as a factor in their loss of confidence in continuing the present administration,” he was reported as saying.
Last year, following criticisms of the Umno and its president Najib Abdul Razak, former menteri besar Ahmad Said was urged to step down as state assemblyperson for Kijal.- Mkini
