GKCM lodges report with RoS on Muhyiddin’s suspension
PUTRAJAYA: The Coalition of Branch Chiefs Malaysia (GKCM) today filed a report with the Registrar of Societies (RoS) regarding the allegedly unconstitutional suspension of Muhyiddin Yassin as Umno deputy president.
GKCM deputy president Mohamad Zin Mustapa alleged Muhyiddin’s suspension was not done according to Umno’s constitution and had “treacherous” elements.
The GKCM is a group of Umno branch leaders demanding for the resignation of party President and Prime Minister Najib Razak.
“In fact, a few days before Muhyiddin was suspended, there were individuals in Umno who were fanning the flames to get him suspended.
“This goes to show that the voices of a few lousy leaders ring louder than the Umno constitution,” Mohamad Zin told reporters after lodging the report here today.
He also questioned why Muhyiddin was not called by the party’s disciplinary board to defend himself, prior to his suspension.
Meanwhile, GKCM vice president Mohd Solihin Badri said that the RoS had already assigned an officer to probe their report.
Muhyiddin had earlier said he would take his suspension to the RoS, as he claimed the move had been made in haste.
