Hulu Besut assemblyman denies MB rumours
PETALING JAYA: Hulu Besut assemblymen Nawi Mohamad has dismissed rumours that he will replace Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman as the Terengganu menteri besar.
Malay Mail Online spoke to Nawi, who said it was business as usual in the state.
“No..it is not true. Where did you get that story from?
“As far as I am concerned, I did not hear anything about the sitting menteri besar being replaced,” he was quoted as saying.
Nawi’s name is the third to surface to replace Ahmad Razif after the latter was stripped of his datukship titles by the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.
The other two names who were earlier said to be contenders for the MB’s post were Telemong assemblyman Rozi Mamat and Permaisuri assemblyman Mohd Jidin Shafee.
The portal also spoke to Terengganu PKR chief Azan Ismail who urged Ahmad Razif to relinquish his position, given the fact that he had fallen out of favour with the Sultan.
