Azmin opens arms to all reform-minded parties for grand coalition
SHAH ALAM, Aug 6 — All political parties who are committed to the reform agenda will have a place in Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s proposed “grand coalition” to take on the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the next general polls.
The PKR deputy president reiterated today his view that the main criterion for inclusion was a political party’s courage to push for holistic reforms in the country rather than the racial make-up of its members, amid rumbles over a purported all-Bumiputera party to be set up by former Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
“We want to support any party that subscribes to the reform agenda,” Azmin replied when asked if he would back the inclusion of a Bumiputera-only party.
“I think what is important is it must have the courage to undertake the reform programme,” he told reporters after launching the Selangor International Indigenous Art Festival 2016 at the Botanical Gardens here.
