BRACE FOR AZMIN TO TURN ROGUE LIKE KHALID IBRAHIM: S’GOR MB SHOWS HIS POLITICAL HYPOCRISY, USE OF OFFICE TO CLUB DOWN PARTY MATE WONG CHEN

SHAH ALAM – Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali flayed Kelana Jaya MP Wong Chen today for publicly criticising the state’s audit without consulting the executive body first.

The PKR deputy president said his party colleague should have discussed the matter internally before blowing it out of proportion.

“I really hope as Member of Parliament, he should understand the process and we should respect entire process to ensure transparency and accountability.

“If there is any issue, he should come forward and talk to the state government rather than make it public, but I leave it to him,” Azmin told reporters when met today.

The Gombak MP stressed that the audit department is a standalone and is not influenced by any political motives or even by him as the chief minister.

“The state government and I don’t disturb the auditing process. If the audit department wants to audit anyone, the process has to be abided [by] without any executive disturbance and political elements,” Azmin said.

He also pointed that even he himself has been audited by the state before and cooperated with the audit without making a fuss.

“Even I myself have been audited before but I did not make it to a issue. This is because any parties including parliamentarians and state assemblymen have accepted well that this process ensures transparency,” added Azmin.

In a Facebook posting yesterday, Wong said that the state government led by his party colleagues had arbitrarily frozen the community spending for his constituency.

Wong said that the state informed his office of the decision via a letter in early June, weeks after Wong had taken to his social media platform on Facebook to explain his dispute with the state government regarding an audit they had conducted on his constituency community spending.

Wong also said that according to the letter, a part of the community spending was in fact frozen in July 2016, months before the state even completed their audit and made any findings.

The audit is regarding the spending of the RM250,000 annual community spending allocation given to all elected representatives in Selangor.
