RED SHIRTS JAMAL, WHO CARRIED CARDBOARD REPLICA OF WAN AZIZAH WITH HIM ON KAJANG MRT, TO REVEAL ON SUNDAY WHY HE SHOULD REPLACE KHAIRY AS UMNO YOUTH CHIEF

Umno Sungai Besar chief Jamal Md Yunos today said he has the right to nominate himself to compete for the Umno Youth chief’s position and replace Khairy Jamaluddin.

“Everyone have their own strengths, every leader has his own strength, and I have never belittled Khairy.

“I respect him (Khairy) as a leader of youths, and as the Umno Youth chief. He has his own achievements, but anyone can offer himself (for the position). I, too, have the right to nominate myself for the Umno Youth chief’s position,” said the red shirts leader after a visit to the Sungai Buloh MRT station today.

Jamal said this in reply to a question whether he can be a better Umno Youth chief than Khairy.

He had recently expressed his interest in replacing Khairy, should the latter’s position fall vacant after the next general election.

When asked about his academic credentials, compared to Oxford alumni Khairy, Jamal said he will reveal his qualifications at the Pandan Umno Youth delegates meeting in Ampang, this Sunday.

“I will show my profile to all, there,” he said.

Earlier, Jamal, who is notorious for his outrageous stunts against the Selangor state government, “took” opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail – or rather a cut-out of her, for a ride on the MRT, from the Kajang stadium station to the Sungai Buloh terminal.

The cut-out was accompanied by text deemed insulting to Wan Azizah’s husband and Pakatan Harapan de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who is currently serving time in Sungai Buloh prison for sodomy.

Jamal and his entourage boarded the train about 10.45am and reached their destination about noon.

Meanwhile, PKR Youth chief Tan Kar Hing in a statement later, said he was disgusted by Jamal’s latest “rude” stunt, which rubbed salt on the wound suffered by Wan Azizah and her family (over Anwar’s imprisonment).

“Jamal is notorious for his political gimmicks to gain public attention without caring about principles. His past records also show he is a politically-shallow person and only acts as a henchman for top Umno leaders,” said Tan, urging Jamal to stop politicising the MRT project.

“Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak recently politicised the MRT project by saying it is the government’s gift to the people, now Jamal is doing the same.

“I would like to stress here that providing good public transport is the government’s responsibility,” he said.

Selangor PKR Youth secretary Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman also slammed Jamal’s latest stunt as rude and low in morals.

“This shows that Jamal is not schooled in manners and his conduct has deviated from that of a civilised human being’s,” he said.

Syed Badli urged Jamal to apologise to Wan Azizah for the stunt and asked Umno leaders to advise Jamal to act in a sane manner.

“If no one pays heed to this call, it is clear that Umno lacks leaders of calibre and with moral values. Hence, it is fair for the party to be rejected in the coming general election.”
