Teachers have one of the hardest jobs in the world. They are underpaid, under-appreciated, and often understaffed, with classrooms that are far too big and resources that amount to very little.

On top of all that, teachers are also faced with a host of issues that have nothing to do with the subjects they teach. They are mentors and role models to kids who may not have positive adult figures at home. They also help students deal with social and emotional issues and provide a listening ear when needed.

Why do they do it? Because of pure love and dedication. At Oak Park High School, the “Positivity Project” recently challenged teachers to tell students just how much they mean to them.
